The Children's Coalition of the Lehigh Valley is a community based, member supported, advocacy organization dedicated to making the Lehigh Valley an environment where all children and families can flourish. As its members know, this puts the Children's Coalition in a unique position in the Lehigh Valley as an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization. The past support of its members has helped the Coalition accomplish many of its goals and we hope that you will join them in this effort.

Past accomplishments included:

• Held yearly Family Policy Summits

• Developed this website to ensure effective communication

• Launched a media campaign with local community leaders around the 2006 state/federal elections

• Recruited new board members

• Effectively partnered with PA Partnerships for Children, Pre K Counts PA, Good Schools PA, and Community Schools for Children to represent the Lehigh Valley in a successful statewide coalition to pass the Pre K Counts program, providing 400 at-risk children in the Lehigh Valley high quality early education experiences

• Endorsed the Pennsylvania School Funding Campaign so the recommendations of the costing-out study would be implemented, which led to a $274.7 million increase in basic education funding--the largest increase in at least two decades

• Hired a full time executive director
